Vaikunta Ekadasi celebrations will be held at a grand manner at Sri Parthsarathy Perumal temple at Triplicane in Chennai on 5 January, 2012 (Thursday).

Speaking to reporters, HR&CE Deputy Commissioner and Temple Executive Officer Vanmathi said the function will begin at 4.30 am. on that day with the opening of Paramapada Vaasal (Sorgavaasal).

Being one of the prominent temples among the 108 Vaishnava Thiruthalam, this temple at Triplicane, Chennai, celebrates this occasion in a grand manner. On 5 January, at 2.30 am, a Muthangi Sevai will be held and followed by the opening of Sorgavaasal.

Tight security has been arranged and the devotees can use facilities like drinking water and they will be made to move about in queues. Annadhanam and other prasadams will also be given for the devotees on that day
