Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, as part of its marketing initiatives have launched a first – a contest to select the best house in the state of Tamil Nadu. This will reward consumers for the care and effort they have put in to build their homes and recognize key members of the construction industry – engineers, architects and builders.
Dalmia Best House Award
The proud home-owners who have designed and built their properties compete for the prize given to the best house in the district. The state level prize for the best house will be picked from the winners at the district level.
Dalmia Best Plan Award
For owners of sites who have an approved plan and intend building an independent house shortly, there are district level awards for the Best Plan. The state level prize for the best plan will be picked from the winners at the district level.
Roadshow
The road show to highlight the search of the best house was flagged off by Mr.T.Venkatesan, CEO (Cement Business) of Dalmia Cement on 17th Feb. It would traverse the various districts in TN. The contest period is February 20th to 5th March.

1. Dalmia Best House in Tamil Nadu
2. Dalmia Best Plan in Tamil Nadu (for the Yet to be Built House)
3. Sharon Plywood Best Woodwork Done House
4. Nippon Paints Best Painted House
5. Suryadev TMT Bars Well-Built House
6. Honda Gensets Best Powered House
One can log on to the website www.dalmiabesthouseintn.com to participate. Entries will be judged by experienced engineers & architects.
Exciting Prizes for Home Owners – Car, Home Appliances and Gold
There are a spate of exciting prizes, ranging from gold coins for the district level winners to the bumper prize for the winner of the Best House contest in Tamil Nadu – a Ford Figo car. Home appliances for Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 75,000 are the second and third prizes.
The engineers/ builders / architects will get a trophy to recognize their expertise in building the Best House or preparing the Best Plan.

I am living at Villuppuram. I had built my dream house sorry home, which I had planned for years and years. With the GOD’s GRACE, the entire planning of Civil & Electrical are mainly designed by me in a graph sheet. The Plan of the House is not a traditional one and is a convenient design in all the aspects ie ease of mobility and safety and security. The entire wood work is done out of the country Teak wood, harvested from my own field as well as packing wood.
I am pleased to participate in Best Built House contest (all the 5 out of 6 contest except the serial no. 2 ie best plan award for the proposed home construction) for I had conceived A to Z, all the ideas the good one to adopt and the inconvenient / bad one to avoid in my construction. I had adopted most of Vaasthu and avoided disputed Manaiadi Saasthras. My home is neither Too big nor too small. This is built in a 60*60 plot.
I wish everyone to build their home with a good taste and to lead a peaceful, prosperous and harmonious life. I can give any suggestion out of my experience and acquired knowledge.
Only once you can build a house. If any mistakes are inconveniences found afterwards, it will be very difficult to rectify the same. So well planning before starting a construction is a must.
